Hiding away in the beautiful Dorset village of Cranborne, 10 Castle Street is a simply stunning exclusive wedding venue. Having eaten the superb food at 10 Castle Street several times, I was very excited to be asked to provide Martine and Nick’s wedding photography, as 10 Castle Street is a venue I have wanted to work as a wedding photographer at for some time. It really is an exquisite venue, filled with fascinating decor and artwork, with beautifully maintained flower gardens, sculptures, beech avenues, and a gorgeous wild flower meadow in early summer.
Martine and Nick got ready in the beautiful bedrooms at 10 Castle Street, and then everyone walked to the church through the village of Cranborne. The drizzle didn’t put anyone off though, and as the reception began, the Caribbean steel band Martine had chosen to reflect her roots began to play. It was almost as if the music inspired the sun to come out, and as the clouds started to part and we were bathed in glorious warm spring caribbean sunshine!
Martine and Nick’s dogs played a huge part in the wedding, bearing the rings, and laying on their beds at the front of the church. I do love seeing dog’s at weddings they are part of the family after all, even if they seemed take a dislike to me as the photographer for some reason! They had some stunning bow ties made for them by the rather talented Lauren from Concept Flowers, the detail was incredible.
The evening light was beautiful, and there was a real style to Martine and Nick’s black tie wedding, which lead on in to some party in the evening. At the last minute, they decided to have the first dance outside rather than inside, and I am so glad they did, as the patio framed by the grandeur of 10 Castle Street, was just perfect.
As always, I’ll let the photos tell the story!
